We had a good chunk of snow predicted in Boston this week to follow up an unusually sunny week before that, but turns out we got none and I think that sums up late winter in New England pretty well. I have a love-hate relationship with this time of year, and 95% of the love comes from the produce that’s in season—potatoes, carrots, broccoli, kale, lemons, and cauliflower—hearty veggies that show up a lot in my recipes. Cooking with those hearty ingredients is what keeps my morale up when the snow mixes with the dirt on the sides of the roads here in Boston and tends to stays that way until April…
All of that to say I wanted to pick out some recipes for this week’s meal plan that highlight those late winter veggies and generally make your dinners taste especially comforting and warm, regardless of where you are in the world!
