this week's easy to prep & clean up dinner plan with PDF grocery list
Happy Friday and happy August! How is it August?! Did July just slip right by for everyone else too?? Well, one thing I never want to waste time on is preparing dinner (I know you know this by now), so in the spirit of time saving, this week’s meal plan is made up solely of one-pan or one-pot meals. This way, you’ll cut down your time in the kitchen and cleaning up so you can get out an enjoy what’s left of summer, while still eating delicious, nutritious meals the whole time! Plus, every recipe is GF & DF.
I’ve always considered one-pan meals one of my primary recipe categories because I know coming home from a busy day and being able to get dinner ready quickly is key for so many of you. When I’m developing a one-pan meal recipe, I try to incorporate:
Enough protein to keep you full & satisfied — Ingredients quick to prepare but protein-packed liked fish, chicken, chickpeas, sausages, tofu, & ground meats
A hearty serving of produce — Adding in veggies wherever I can is a personality trait of mine at this point, and tossing in some greens, herbs, citrus, or quick-cooking produce items to a pan adds new tastes, textures, and fiber
Grains or starches for energy — You know a one-pan dish with rice is my fave, but I also love to incorporate quinoa, potatoes, pasta, or other simple starches that not only add nourishment, but are often budget-friendly
Flavor add-ins for exciting bites — Whether it’s a simple sauce, pesto, salsa, or coconut milk pour (my personal preference 😂), I’m always looking for some component that takes a dish from simple to elevated with little work required
