My high protein breakfast biscuits have long been a favorite over on IG and TikTok.
*steps up onto soapbox*
I think their popularity is (at least partly) because many of us are sick and tired of having two breakfast options: something sweet or something extremely egg forward. Don’t get me wrong, I love a little something sweet, I have so many great sweet breakfast options on my website, but sometimes I just want something savory for breakfast. And I love an egg, but if I eat too many egg forward breakfasts in a short period of time, I need at least one fiscal quarter before I’m over the egg ick. This dilemma is what drove me to develop my high protein breakfast biscuits!
These biscuits are savory, and tasty, and high protein. They have eggs in them, but you can’t even tell, avoiding the egg ick situation. But the best part of these biscuits is how customizable they are. Some of my favorite variations include roasted red pepper and goat cheese, everything bagel, and spinach and feta. Many of you have asked what the next high protein breakfast biscuit frontier would be. And I have kept you all waiting for too long.
Without further ado, I am thrilled to announce that the next flavor of high protein breakfast biscuits is… PIZZA.
Yes, PIZZA!
I can’t count the number of times I ate pizza for breakfast as a kid, but it was A LOT. And don’t get me wrong, I will still eat pizza for breakfast occasionally. But these delicious high protein breakfast biscuits give me that same delicious pizza flavor without the 10am crash I get when I have pizza for breakfast. These tasty biscuits keep me satiated until lunch-time, and really do give pizza.

PIZZA HIGH PROTEIN BREAKFAST BISCUITS
Ingredients (makes 12-15 biscuits):
1 tbsp avocado or olive oil
1 small yellow onion, diced
1 red bell pepper, diced
1 green bell pepper, diced
16 oz ground Italian chicken sausage (can sub ground pork, ground chicken, or ground turkey), excess liquid drained after cooking
6 eggs, beaten
1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese + 1/2 cup for topping
1 + 1/2 cups almond flour
1/3 cup coconut flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried basil
1 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/2 smoked paprika
1/4 red pepper flakes
