Hi! Loved your newsletter this week - lots of helpful tips and a good reminder to use the freezer more! I just left a review on your broccoli cheddar soup - it is absolutely delicious and perfect for the cold weather in MA these past few weeks! My boyfriend also said, “this is WAY better than Panera’s” 😂🩷
I loved the breakfast/lunch meal prep calendar for January! Would be a big fan of doing it again for Feb! The lunches have been FAB (broccoli pesto white bean salad is still my favorite). We always do a big pot of oatmeal for our family for breakfast every day but I’ve loved having chia pudding + egg muffins in the fridge / freezer I can grab for filling, delicious snacks though-out the day instead of chips or candy!
Thank you ! Any you’re right , I don’t always use all the recipes so being able to pick and choose things is great ! I really, really like the breakfast and lunch prep. I think that with 3 or so meals will be perfect for us! P.s... I also strayed back to my favorite soup last week , the sausage kale and white bean!!! Sooo yummy. That was one of the first meals I made when I first found you and I couldn’t wait for the cold weather to arrive ( although it arrived with a bit of overkill!😆) to make it again!
My biggest obstacle is to find things ... still... I spend a lot of time searching for the meal preps and the recipes I’m making them for only to find I bought the stuff for the meal preps but not to make the actual meals. I feel like I’ll read something, make a plan, but trying to find what I read involves a lot of searching through emails and Substack posts. This week I missed the actual full shopping list so I need to make another trip to the grocery ... I’m not sure the best way to make it easier to find everything but I’m still struggling with it. Are the breakfasts and lunches a week ahead ? Is the 2-2-2 different than what is in the meal preps? I have been loving prepping as it saves so much time but I need to get better at how to find all the things 😀🤪
I hear you!! So my recommendation first would be each week set a time to figure out what all of your meals for the week will be. For example if you want to grocery shop for 5 dinners and meal prep breakfast and lunch for the week, you can follow along any of the meal plans in the archive (here: https://jenneatsgoood.substack.com/p/how-to-navigate-the-eat-goood-substack) and then pick out meal prep recipes. This month the meal prep calendar (https://jenneatsgoood.substack.com/p/new-year-new-meal-prep-plan) is what I've been recommending and it has a grocery list for each week! I separate breakfast/lunch meal prep from dinner plans because depending on the person, some want to follow just one or the other. But you can always combine both! When in doubt if you're looking for something you can always send me a message!! Does this make sense?
I also try to keep everything super organized in that pinned post so you can find what you're looking for! The ingredient prep (Friday's newsletter https://jenneatsgoood.substack.com/p/january-ingredient-prep-guide?r=32zfqe&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web&triedRedirect=true) is something I'm doing every month now so for this month you can look at that as an additional grocery list/meal prep plan you can follow whenever is best for you! I want to provide everything as tools that you can use without having to strictly be on the same calendar as everyone else ❤️
